“The billboard for the Experimenta in Lisbon is made out of newsprint paper. We took advantage of the fact that newsprint yellows significantly in the sun. A gigantic stencil for the 3m x 8m billboard was built in New York on the roof of our studio and the newsprint paper was exposed to the sun for a full week. It then spelled out the line (in white on dark yellowed background): “Complaining is silly. Either Act or Forget”
We then shipped this exposed newsprint to Lisbon. Through further exposure to the sun there, the typography (and the complaining) slowly faded away.”
